Apple Reveals the Most Popular Apps, Movies and Music of 2017

Recently, we have received the annual Best of 2017 list from Apple, consisting of our favorite movies, podcasts, apps, books, TV shows and others. Apple found the top trending topics of the year through the App Music, iTunes, the App Store, iBooks and Apple Podcasts, and is ready to share with us. Apart from that, the company has just presented the 70 new emoji for iOS 11, which was an overwhelming surprise for the fans.

Now let’s get to our top trends and charts of 2017.

1. Best Applications

The top areas of interest on the App Store in 2017 include the augmented reality, storytelling and reading apps, the real-time competitive gaming, and mental health apps. For instance, one of the well-liked health and fitness apps is Calm, while Splitter Critters and 3D puzzler The Witness share the first position in charts of the coolest games for iPhone and iPad.

2. Best Music

With his More Life release, Drake continues to lead the list of the best albums of 2017. Ed Sheeran with his “Shape of You”, along with Taylor Swift and her “Reputation” reached the top spots on the 2017 US album charts. Some other talented artists are Khalid, 6LACK and Daniel Caesar, all Grammy Awards nominees.

3. Best Movies

The most watched movie of the year that won the hearts of many people is “Moana”. It’s followed by such cool films as “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “Wonder Woman.” The top iTunes TV shows this year are The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, and Rick and Morty. And among the newcomers arriving on the chart are NBC’s “This Is Us,” PBS’s “Victoria”, HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” and FX’s “The Americans.”

4. Best Podcasts

If you haven’t listened to this podcast, you’ve probably lost a fortune. The “Fresh Year” has collected the biggest number of downloads this year, surpassing podcasts like “The Daily”, “Up First”, “A Murder on Orchard Street”, “S-Town”, and “Dirty John”.

5. Best Books

This year, “The Handmaid’s Tale” reached the top place in the iBooks fiction charts and now is the best-selling book. Other favorites are “Big Little Lies”, “Before We Were Yours”, and “Hillbilly Elegy” as the best nonfiction book.

6. Best on iTunes U

The most popular courses on iTunes U in 2017 are related to coding, apps developing with Swift, music, personal finance, machine learning, and others.
